With the ongoing tension over Ukraine we saw well that EU and US are doing nothing over Russia - Ukraine, conflict where innocent people die every second now, once again we witnessed that they do nothing to protect world from dictators like V. Putin.  They're literally scared of Russian and this was second time they DID nothing to prevent Russia from killing innocent people. Putin. We must try to make them uncomfortable with all means we have. We mush show them the power of people and force them to do something, WHEN THEY DO NOTHING TO PREVENT IT. IF "US" AND "EU" DOESN'T TAKE DRASTIC MEASUREMENTS AGAINST RUSSIA, WE WILL LITERALLY ONE DAY WAKE UP IN SOVIET UNION. I want us to send NATO forces into Ukraine, to assist the Ukrainian Armed forces in defending against the Russian Federation, despite the consequences and risks it is worth defending a free country who is trying to keep their freedom, The Ukrainian forces need NATO reinforcements 

As owners and families of Iowa's Youth Activities Businesses such as Dance Studios, Gymnastics Centers and similar entities we are supportive of all of the Governor's efforts to reduce the spread of COVID 19 in our state in this difficult period. We, the undersigned are hoping that we can work with the Governor's office and health officials to improve and continue providing in person instruction as of Dec 1 with the following requirements: 1) Our Businesses will ensure that masks will be properly worn by 100% of employees, students and visitors at all times in the facility. 2) No guardians allowed into the building for those children above the age of 6. Parents / Care Givers will be asked to drop off and pick up but not enter the building. For those younger students or for students with special needs, guardians will be required to wear a mask at all times within the business. 3) Our Businesses Class sizes will be limited to a maximum of 15 people in rooms that can adequately provide for a continuous spacing of students of a minimum of 6' and all efforts will be taken to ensure students remain spaced at this distance at all times. For instruction rooms that are not large enough to accommodate this, class sizes will be reduced accordingly. 4) Our Businesses will continue to do temperature checks of all who enter the premises and work with local health officials anytime there is a positive case to ensure contract tracing and similar efforts to notify families to limit exposure. 5) Our Businesses will comply with all other best practices to ensure the safety of our students, families and staff. We vow to do our part to limit the spread while providing safe, in person instruction to Iowa's youth who need to stay active and engaged in this time. Without any other federal program like PPP our businesses will not survive an extended closure. We will do all that we can to be safe if we can be allowed to remain open with the above parameters this winter. To CSW STUDENTS, We, the Social Justice Alliance, hope you have had a safe and relaxing winter break. Amidst the new 446,560 cases that arose in the United States on New Year's eve alone, we want to address the concerns from the Charter student and parent body. Other high schools in Delaware have already declared their concerns for the students’ health and decided to go virtual or conduct surveys asking students their comfortability in coming back. With this footprint already set in place, it is necessary for the number one school in the state to follow. After the new 36 cases that were reported on December 31st, and many health officials predicting the cases to peak late January and early February, it is not viable to come back to the building. Also, students were not being held accountable for having their masks above their nose pre-break, many peers and parents have reached out to us with their concern for safety in returning to the building. In this situation, we ask, what measures has CSW taken in order to ensure the safety of students? We understand the new outdoor seating along with a higher amount of filters; however, the seating is very limited, students are completely unmasked during lunch, and the hallways get very crowded during the breaks between classes. With CSW constantly emphasizing their concern for students’ mental health, it is very worrying when omicron corona virus come back into school with covid cases continuing to peak along with their anxiety. We believe that those who are unsure of what to do, or are afraid to go into school should be able to have a virtual option too. Keeping everything in mind, we understand the uncertainty of what steps to choose next. But ultimately, we need CSW to choose our and the teachers’ health above all. There is a proposal on the table to convert Thomaston Dam into a walking path. Sign this petition to urge our lawmakers to preserve Thomaston Dam as an off-road motorcycle area and opt for an alternative route for the Naugatuck River Greenway. Thomaston Dam is used by many people, including families, to enjoy off-road motorcycling. This proposal would eliminate 50% of legal places to ride off-road in the state of CT and would be a detrimental loss to the motorcycling community. It would also have an impact on local businesses currently benefitting from people traveling to Thomaston from all over, including out of state, to use the dirt bike trails at Thomaston Dam. There is a hearing on 12Jan22. Collected signatures will be shared with Senator Blumenthal and Thomaston First Selectman Ed Monte on Monday, 10Jan22 10pm.

The LeGrand Reynolds Horsemen’s Camp will soon no longer be available to the individual equestrian for camping. This property has been the one and only site available to horse riders in the State of RI since 1969 when the former Beach Pond Campsite was set aside for horse activities and camp use. Over the years with the help of the equestrians the RI Federation of Riding Clubs has put in a riding arena, shelter, picnic tables and done continuous maintenance on the grounds to assist DEM on the upkeep of the camp. The state now wants to open our camping to all user groups and restrict the usage to only groups that have insurance of a million dollars on top of requiring a permit that would need to be requested a minimum of 30 days in advance. This would eliminate all individual horse people that are not connected to an organization. There are multiple camping facilities available throughout the state that other user groups are welcome in. Horses do not have that same advantage. Doing this would stop horse camping in our state for many and push our own residents, taxpayers, to have to go out of state to camp with their horses. This would also take from the local economy where gas, food, etc. may have been purchased. This campground is more than a piece of land. It is a part of rider’s family history. Families have grown camping with horses here. Don’t take this away from them!! Let DEM know you support the equestrians keeping the one place they have under the terms it always has been. The abduction and imprisonment of journalist and blogger Roman Protasevich and his partner Sophia Sapega in Belarusian airspace on May 24, 2021 is the brutal response of a totalitarian regime to someone who has exercised his human right to freedom of expression. As a journalist and blogger, the 26-year-old has pointed out social and political grievances in his country of Belarus. With the harsh action against the young man and his partner, President Alexander Lukashenko continues the systematic suppression of freedom and human rights with which he acts against opposition figures, dissidents and cultural workers. The case of this tragic kidnapping is an inconceivable interference in the life of a young person, which we cannot accept. We call on you, Mr. Lukashenko, to immediately release Belarusian journalist and blogger Roman Protasevich and his partner Sophia Sapega and to end the persecution and harassment of opposition figures, journalists* and cultural workers in Belarus. The abduction and imprisonment of the Belarusian blogger and his partner is an arbitrary and unlawful act and a serious interference with freedom of expression. Roman Protasevich has done nothing but exercise this human right. We cannot and will not accept your behavior, Mr. Lukashenko, in this way. We will ensure that acts such as these are not forgotten and are repeatedly brought to the attention of an international public. By acting against these two young people and a multitude of others, you, Mr. Lukashenko, are trying to gradually silence the critical and admonishing voices in Belarus. You will not succeed in doing so before the eyes of the world. Criticism is elementary for a free, diverse democratic society. Freedom of speech is a human right and non-negotiable. We appeal to the German government and the political forces in the EU to stick to their course and to consistently and sustainably stand up for freedom of expression in Belarus. We call on them to defend the human right of freedom of expression without fail and not to weigh it against geostrategic and economic interests and to relativize its central importance in negotiations. First, the 2022-2023 Afghan Fulbright Semi-Finalists would like to thank the US Government for supporting thousands of Afghan students to pursue their higher education through the Fulbright Program.  Each year, the Fulbright Scholarship candidates are selected from among the brightest students in Afghanistan. We (the 2022-2023 Afghan Fulbright Semi-finalists) have been shortlisted for the program this year; but, due to COVID-19 pandemic, our interviews have been delayed and re-scheduled on September 2021. Last week, we heard the news that the applicants in other countries have received emails for their interviews but the Afghan Semi-finalists are still left behind. Therefore, we kindly request the US State Department to conduct the interviews of the 2022-2023 Afghan Fulbright Semi-finalists and keep the Fulbright Program in Afghanistan. As the prospect Fulbright Scholars, we have had a common mission of enhancing mutual understanding between Afghans and Americans through cultural exchanges and contributing to strengthen the two nation's long-lasting friendships. Johnny Depp has been out recently as Captain Jack Sparrow. We don't really know the real reason though. He has been playing this role since 2003 when we first saw him arriving at the Port Royal in his boat with that epic background music playing. But can you imagine no Jack Sparrow at all? No epic entry scores, no humorous dialogues and the guy with the most good and bad luck at the same time?  Don't they know that without Johnny Depp or Jack Sparrow they will sink, they will never be able to reach that horizon. Even if it means nothing to you but please, sign this petition for the ones who REALLY want Johnny Depp as their Captain of the Black Pearl!  They have to bring him back to rule the seas again, UNLESS it is actor's own choice to withdraw from the role. 

I have been campaigning to end caged hen farming through letter writing for several years now. I have five hens myself, two of them are ex- commercial barn hens and one of them once lived in commercial colony cages. They are amazing animals to be around. Keeping my own hens and knowing their past has made me determined to improve the way hens are kept commercially. I found out that Tesco is one of the few supermarkets that still sell eggs from caged hens. After trying to end this through my own letter writing I have come to find that the written opinions of one person creates little impact on a company like Tesco. However I believe that with the help of like-minded people on social media, we can make Tesco listen and create an impact. Food production affects everyone. Very few of us, however, know the truth behind the processes that leads to the food sold in our stores. A prime example of this is the egg productions industry. Lots of eggs sold to us in stores come from hens kept in "enriched cages". The conditions in these "enriched cages" are cramped and very restrictive. The hens never see the light of day or get to experience a natural lifestyle. In addition, the hens never get to experience the real outside world. Which I believe is an essential element for a hen to live a happy and healthy life. This methods of egg farming are cruel, unnatural and inhumane. Tesco is one of the biggest supermarket chains in the country. If it stopped selling cage eggs it would drastically reduce the number of hens who spend their lives in cages. It would also send a message to other supermarkets that this is an option that is realistic and achievable. Companies such as Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencers and Waitrose stopped selling eggs from caged hens years ago and new companies are listening to the public and realising that something has to change -- recently Mcdonald’s UK responded to a petition and agreed to stop using eggs from cage kept hens.
